MYRTLE SPRINGS PRIMITIVE BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY
The church at Myrtle Springs was established in 1817 and
dissolved in 1992.
There is only one surviving member of the
church today. The
church building itself was sold to Harold and
Louise Boucher of rural Toomsboro as a dwelling following
the burning
of their home. There
is a marker placed at the cemetery, and there
are two days a year that are dedicated to the cleaning and
maintenance.
To reach the cemetery take HWY 112 west out of
Toomsboro. When you
reach Old Ball's Ferry Rd. turn left. (This should be the
first paved
road to the left out of Toomsboro.) The cemetery is approximately 1/4 m
ile down Ball's Ferry Road on the right. Upon entering the gate that
is closest to the marker, Row #1 is to the far side of the
cemetery,
the first grave is the closest to the road. Each row after this is
closer to the gate, therefore you are working your way from
the far
side of the cemetery to the marker/gate side.
