Lord Family Cemetery Inscriptions Wilkinson County, GA
Directions to cemetery: Leaving Toomsboro on HWY 112 (west)
go approximately 3 miles to the first paved road to the left.
This is Ball's Ferry Road. Lord Cemetery Road is about one mile
down on the left. It is a dirt road, and is marked. Cemetery is
about 1/4 mile down on the left.
Row #1 is the first row to the far left as you go in the gate.
The Rows continue on left to right. The first grave in each
Row is the grave that is closest to the fence. There are several
spaces that have no stones or other obvious signs of graves. There
was once an old homesite beside the cemetery, and my mother tells
me that the children used to play in and around the cemetery, thus
several headstones were damaged in this way. Other headstones have
been damaged by the elements. The cemetery has a marker at the gate
entrance identifying it as Lord Family Cemetery. It is cleaned and
maintained by Mary Holland Duke and her husband C. W. Duke.
